The inaugural event which is the first of its kind in the industry took place in ValuCard premises with attendance drawn from Visa International, ValuCard Nigeria Plc and Heads of Internal Control Departments of Visa member-banks in Nigeria. The forum is a standing body that will enable payment card industry players especially Issuers, Processors and Acquirers of Visa cards and transactions to co-ordinate fraud and risk control strategies with the objective of minimizing fraud.

The UBA Group has announce today that they have commenced the issuance of Visa V Pay debit Cards in Nigeria. ‘We are delighted to add the Visa V Pay product to our range of card product offerings. Our Visa V Pay product is unique in Nigeria as it’s a debit card which contains a micro chip, whereby transactions are validated against the chip rather than a magstripe. Today, Access Bank PLC, a leading Nigerian Bank announced that it had commenced acceptance of VISA International and domestic V-Pay cards on its ATMs (Automated Teller Machines). The Bank is also set to be the first Nigerian bank to commence issuance of V-Pay, a Visa Chip and PIN domestic debit card.
